iScheduleTimeMachine - The Time Machine Scheduler App Reviews
Good
Good app but missing an option to hide the icone in the menu bar.
There a little crown in the menubar related to the helper of the app. Sometimes, it gets blocked, spinning forever. The only way to stop it is to reboot. I’ve sent several messages to the developer, never any answer… I think when you pay for a software, at least you’re supposed to have answers to your requests. I’ll change my notation, if I get a reply.
I purchased this app to schedule my Time Machine backups — I have a number of large, sparse volume images which take about 45 minutes to backup out of every 60 minutes, and the default Time Machine schedule just isn’t right for the way that I use my system. (And yes, I want these images backed up, so I don’t want to add them to the exclusion list.) This app allows me to increase the time between backups. It runs as a sandboxed user app, and has control over the time & idelness of the system. After a minor issue with getting this app running on an OS X 10.9 Server edition, I contacted the developer, and he was very helpful. The program is now up & running perfectly. Recommended!
Turned on, my Mac now runs Time Machine backups 3-4 times a day when I have it set to only once a week. Interface is awful, needs more options. I don’t want Time Machine running every 60 min if I haven’t touched my Mac, but you are forced to make this choice and not able to turn it off. Please fix because this is a great idea, just poorly executed.
I downloaded this app and got it set up yesterday. Today, when I click on the icon, the icon expands like it is about to open, then…….nothing. Completely useless.
At first I had a problem and posted a negative review. But the tech support offered by the company was amazing! iSchedule works great. Thank you!!!! I was sick and tired of my computer slowing down every time Time Machine did a back up. Now the backups occur when I’m not trying to use my computer. Great product. Thanks again.
I bought this first because it was cheaper (I think… I can’t see the prices anymore), but it never worked. I installed the helper script, etc. but not only did I not get backup progress when triggering a manual backup, I also didn’t get any backups at all. The competing app "Time Machine Backup Scheduler” DID work though. Now I’ve bought both. My recommendation? Buy the other one.
Doesn’t work. Why does Apple allow this to even be listed?
Waste of money. Doesn’t work. Oh- it does load and take your money. It just doesn’t work with Time Machine...
I informed seller of this problem several weeks ago but never received a response. Since upgrading to Yosemite, I now have a fleeting star appearing in my Menu Bar. It causes the other items in my menu bar to shift to make room for the star. When i remove this app, the problem disappears so I know it is related to the app. I did not have the problem using Mavericks. I’m very dissapointed that the seller does not see fit to address the problem or even correspond with me. Have given up on this app. Am using TimeMachineEditor now it’s free and works great.
